Why am I being logged out?

If you are being logged out of a session automatically without your specifically choosing to do so, you may either be logged out automatically because of a time period you have selected on the Account Settings page, or your VPN or TOR browser may cause you to be logged out because of change in IP address. To prevent from being logged out automatically, you can do either or both of the following:

1. Automatic log out
The period of inactivity after which StartMail will automatically log you out may be too short for your liking. To adjust this, please do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Account




  2. Select a larger amount of time for the Automatically log out after option



2. Restrictive session origin
Tor or your private VPN are butting up against StartMail's security features.

  1. To fix this, go to Settings > Account.





  2. Uncheck the Restrict Session Origin option. For more information, please consult this article.
