Why do I sometimes see a recovery email address screen?
Last modified on 11 February 2018 03:00 AM

StartMail will occasionally show you a reminder to confirm or set a recovery email address when you log in to your StartMail account through the Web. We do this to confirm that:

  • You have set a recovery email address
  • The recovery email address is still accurate
  • The recovery address on file for you has been confirmed

We show these reminders under two conditions:

  1. Every time you log in but have not yet confirmed your recovery email address
  2. Every three months as a courtesy, to remind you of your recovery email address and help keep it current

If you do not wish to provide a recovery email, you may wish to use a Recovery Code instead. You can find more information about this here.

If you have not set a recovery email address, and want to be able to take advantage of StartMail's password reset feature, then do so as soon as you can. Without a confirmed recovery email address, StartMail cannot reset your account password for you!
