How to set up your StartMail account in Evolution

Before you can add your StartMail account to your email client, you first must enable IMAP access in the StartMail settings.

Follow this link to enable IMAP access in StartMail before returning to the steps below.


 Next, open your Evolution software on your device and follow these steps:

  1. Go to Edit > Preferences in the Evolution menu

  2. In the Evolution Preferences dialogue, click the Mail Accounts button on the left

  3. Click the add button on the right

  4. Click the forward button on the Evolution Account Assistant dialogue

  5. Enter your name and your StartMail email address

  6. Click the forward button, and you will be taken to the Receiving Email dialogue

  7. Use the settings provided earlier by StartMail in the Add device popup


 If you have been unsuccessful, take a moment to recheck all the information you entered, especially information found in the Add device popup that was generated when you first enabled IMAP access.
