Skip below to read instructions for an iPhone or iPad.

To use aliases on OS X Mail on a Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure at least one alias is active in StartMail. To do this, log in to StartMail on the Web, and go to Settings > Email aliases and making sure that at least one alias is set to "On."

  2. In OS X Mail, go to Mail > Preferences (or just enter ⌘, in the Apple Mail client). The "Accounts" popup will show.
  3. In the "Accounts" popup, make sure the Account Information tab is select, and then click on your StartMail email account.

  4. Select Edit Email addresses...

  5. Click on the + (plus) icon to add a new email address and name. Enter the emailaddress for your alias and click OK.
The email address must exactly match one of your previously defined aliases - otherwise, Mac Mail will not be able to send messages using that alias.

  6. To send an email from your email alias, simply start a new email, and select your alias in the From field.

You will now be able to send and receive mail using your alias.

IMPORTANT: If you do not want your name associated with your alias, you must delete or alter it from the Preferences menu above using the "Full Name:" field, otherwise Mail will automatically use whatever personal name you originally entered.
