I can’t access my account at the two-factor authentication (2FA) step

If your account has two-factor authentication enabled and you are stuck after entering your username and password correctly, you need to enter your Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP), generated by your authentication app, or your 2FA deactivation code. This deactivation code is shown to you when you set up two-factor authentication.


Using the 2FA deactivation code will disable two-factor authentication for your account, while entering the TOTP will simply grant you access to your account.
Losing both the authentication device and the 2FA deactivation code will render your StartMail account inaccessible. In many circumstances, we will be unable to help you to recover this access, so please be very careful when enabling 2FA on your account!
