Explanation
StartMail has received a warning of a potential DDoS attack aimed at StartMail and its servers. We have been in contact with DDos attack specialists and our technology partners in order to take measures and mitigate the risk.
A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to disrupt the normal traffic of a targeted service, network, or server. This is done by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic. The goal of overwhelming a target, it to exhaust its resources to create a denial-of-service.
Impact on StartMail and StartMail Users
As a result of a potential DDos attack, StartMail users may temporarily not be able to log in to their account, or access their StartMail inbox via webmail and/or IMAP devices.
