This article describes how to transfer the ownership of a subscription. The group manager transfers the management of the accounts to another account; the owner of the selected account becomes the new group manager.
The ability to transfer the subscription to another account holder within a group subscription is only available in the group manager's account.
When transferring ownership, please note the following:
- Payment details will no longer be accessible from the previous owner's account. They can be deleted in 'Settings' > 'Subscription' > 'Manage payment sources' > 'Payment methods' > 'Remove payment method' before transferring ownership.
- The new recovery address must be entered and confirmed. 'Settings' >'Account settings' > 'Account recovery methods'
- Domain alias management will be transferred to the new subscription owner. 'Aliases' > 'Domain aliases'
- "Delivered to:" Domain aliases will be retained
- Personal aliases (use.startmail.com, either custom or burner) will remain associated with the accounts where they were created. 'Aliases' > 'Personal aliases' in account they had been created
- Custom domain catch-all receives any email sent to your domain that doesn’t match an existing user or alias. Valid addresses follow the standard email format. If an address is invalid or too long, the sender will receive an error. Example: If you have an alias info@your-domain, emails to that address go to the recipient you selected in the "Delivered to" field of that alias. If someone writes to sales@your-domain (no alias had been created for that), the catch-all will receive it and delivers it to the admin.
