This article will explain how to set up a connection to your StartMail account in the Mozilla Thunderbird email client.
- Open Thunderbird. If this is your first account, you can click on the Email icon to start the set up. If you already have another email account configured, you can add a new one by going to File > New > Existing Mail Account...
- Enter your name, email address and password and click continue.
Your name: This is the name your recipients will see when you send them a message.
Email address: Enter your full StartMail email address.
Password: The login password for your StartMail account will not work here! You will need to generate a separate password. You can generate this password from our Settings > Trusted devices/IMAP page!
Remember password: Keep this option checked, otherwise you will need to fill out the generated password each time.
- It will automatically detect the right settings to connect to your StartMail account. Click Done and you're all set up!
